Life has changed so much over the past few months.  Kahana has shifted gears and is now focusing 100% of his efforts on the thing he’s always wanted to do.  Along with his friend and business partner Billy Wickens, Kahana is developing a surf inspired lifestyle brand and retail space in the heart of North Park – San Diego.  The video above documents Kahana’s trip up to Oregon to salvage a bunch of wood for the interior of the space.

I’ve always encouraged him to start something of his own and we’re so fortunate and blessed for this to be happening.  The best part about it is that I get to offer up a few of my talents (shopping and styling) to help facilitate the vision for the space.  As the vintage buyer for the shop I scour estate sales, thrift stores and rag houses for a specific selection of vintage oxfords, boots and leather handbags, in addition to the occasionsal woven gem.  Here’s a peak at a few of my most recent findings.

Pardon the sporadic nature of my recent posts but Kahana and I have been… occupied to say the least.  As much as I’d love to pour out the details of our newfangled dealings, I’ll hold off until the time arrives.  Let’s just say its requiring plenty of hunting, gathering, and trips to LA.

Last week we finally sunk our teeth into Apple’s forbidden fruit.  And what better way to test out our new iPhones than to document an outing to Quality Social for their Morning after Brunch.

Mr B -“I believe I should be happy to live in the country forever! Wouldn’t you, Darcy?”
Mr. D – “You would? You don’t find the society somewhat confined and unvarying for your taste?”
Mrs. B – “Confined and unvarying? Indeed, it is not, sir! The country is a vast deal pleasanter than town, whatever ‘you’ may say about it!”

The prospect of commerce has inspired my search for unique and second hand goods.  From time to time I dabble in the bounty.  Thrifted Dr. Martens, arrow from Thread and button ring from Pool.

There was once a very lovely, very frightened girl.

She lived alone except for a nameless cat.
